- TORAH CHANTING: Over a thousand years ago a group of scholars called the Masorites, invented the musical system of cantillation called troupe. The symbols are the same whether it is for reading Torah or chanting Haftorah, the Megilot, or for the High Holidays. Once you understand how the system operates, then you will be able to apply your knowledge to mastering either Torah or Haftorah.
